Hi, thanks for visiting my website and for your interest in my novels.
A little about me:
Growing up in Beverly Hills in the '60s and '70s, my family hosted children of prominent Iranians here to further their education, affording me an up-front view into the lives of indulged Iranian children.
After graduating from UC Berkeley in 1968 – yes, that was the height of the anti-war movement, political activism, the "free love" and "flowers-in-your-hair" movements, the birth of the Black Panthers, and mace in the streets almost nightly – I returned to Southern California and worked as a writer for two years before attending Southwestern University of Law.

Along with a satisfying practice as an attorney for over 35 years, representing clients in a wide variety of cases, I constantly indulged my passion for writing. Several of my poems and short stories have been published and I was editor of a niche magazine with subscribers around the world. As the law has been my backbone, writing has always been in my blood.
Before the Islamic Revolution, I made several trips back to Iran. During my final trip in late 1978, I became aware of the plight of Iranians in the face of the chaos that culminated in the Islamic Revolution. I returned to the US and began assisting the first wave of Iranians fleeing Iran to settle their families in Los Angeles. Many shared their unforgettable stories of torture and escape. These, along with stories shared by some of our Iranian houseguests as well as family and friends, have been melded and fictionalized into The Moon Trilogy.
All four novels been received with unexpected praise for which I am grateful. You can find a more detailed description for each book on their individual page, under Novels. I hope you enjoy all four.

I am the mother of two wonderful people and presently live in Los Angeles. I enjoy music, dance, reading, the outdoors and fresh air, chocolate, sunsets and of course, writing.
Thanks again for stopping by. I invite comments directed to gk@gkwriter.com.
Sincerely,

“Regarding all your four novels, Guitta. It is rare to find a first-time novelist who is able to juggle all the elements you have and do it so effectively. Many of your characters are clearly drawn and completely believable.
Your descriptions of time and place are vivid and you manage the most difficult task of all very well
– keeping the plot moving.”

“Guitta’s Persian influence is obvious in her beautiful writing and her word choice.”
